Whincup scores pole, McLaughlin P16 – Supercars.com
Jamie Whincup denied David Reynolds ARMOR ALL Pole Position for the NTI Townsville SuperSprint opener, after a dramatic three-part qualifying session.
Whincup was the ninth driver to run in the Top 10 Shootout, recording a 1:12.0248s to beat previous fast-man Reynolds by 0.1535s.
The big story though was Scott McLaughlin, who was a spectator for the Shootout after a mistake at a critical moment in Q2 left him to start 16th.
