When nuclei feel the bruise, they stimulate cells to escape from…

The risk of serious deformation triggers a quick escape reflex, which allows cells to move away and squeeze out of tight spaces or overcrowded tissues.
In a new study published in the journal today scienceResearchers show that squeezing a cell to the point where its nucleus begins to stretch triggers the activation of motor proteins, which in turn transform the cells cytoskeleton so it can escape a packed environment.
