When Langer grabbed Gilchrist ‘by the neck’ and ‘chucked him against the wall’ – Fox Sports
Justin Langer has recalled how he once grabbed his Australian teammate Adam Gilchrist “by the neck” during a tough time on the 2001 tour of England.
Langer was expected to hold down the No.3 spot for that Ashes series but following the sparkling ODI form of Damien Martyn, he missed out on a Test spot, with his hero Steve Waugh the man to deliver the confidence-crushing news.
About two days before the first Test, I had a knock on the door from the legend Steve Waugh, who literally was my hero, Langer said in a conversation with Shane Watson on Lessons Learnt with the Greats podcast.
