Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, an overlong film by the experienced R. J. Cutler, is haunting and engaging.
In fact, there is a link between Eilish, Perry and Bieber. Theyve all had authorised documentaries in the last decade and each film has followed a similar path: large amounts of concert footage, interspersed with seemingly intimate access that makes clear how difficult it is to be a superstar. The films leave out just as much as they include, of course, and whats there is rigorously vetted for image-control and promotion.
