What’s in a name? ‘VFL’ locked in despite teams from NSW and QLD
The VFL will still be known as the VFL in 2021 – despite bringing in clubs from New South Wales and Queensland.
The AFL announced on Monday its plans for the state league competition, which will include 22 teams across three states and begin on April 17.
A 16-game season across 19 rounds, including three byes, will be played leading to a top eight finals series. The finals will begin on Saturday August 28 and the Grand Final will be played on the weekend of September 18/19.
