What you can do in Brisbane lockdown or risk $13,000 fine

A three-day lockdown in Greater Brisbane has begun as authorities attempt to stop the spread of the highly contagious UK strain of coronavirus.

The lockdown applies the council areas of Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton and Redlands, from Monday 5pm until Thursday 5pm, but rules have been tightened across Queensland with tough penalties for those who do not comply.

Those found to be breaching a public health order face a $13,345 fine and in serious cases, six months behind bars.
