He saw this again last Friday when the Victorian government announced a snap five-day lockdown would start at midnight. By 7.40pm that day, his Victorian store managers had stood up a door-to-door delivery service, whereby staff would use hire cars to make local deliveries. By Saturday, a fleet of 40 vehicles was on the road and over the weekend they did 1000 deliveries.
The experience of the last 12 months says the importance of this service will quickly fade as restrictions ease and customers…
