Doug Hutchison was a 50-year-old, little known actor who had small roles in The Green Mile and Con Air. Courtney Stodden was a 16-year-old who had dreams to become an actress. Together, they were a tabloid magnet.
The couple raised eyebrows in 2011 when they married despite their 35-year age difference and the fact that Stodden who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns was underaged. At the time, Hutchison said he had already fallen in love with Stodden before realising their true age.
