Ryan McGowan’s daughter Millie is almost three months old but, for almost all of her life, he’s been on the other side of the world in Sydney FC’s A-League hub.

When he returned to Sydney in June, McGowan spent two weeks confined to a hotel room. His stay was made slightly easier when Sydney FC upgraded him to a double room and provided a treadmill.
He was put through a rapid pre-season program for three weeks before playing in all six of Sydney’s games since the season resumed on July 17.
