Wet summer ahead for Queensland as La Niña shows ‘similar strength’ to system behind Cyclone Yasi
Recent severe weather is a sign of what is to come this summer, the Bureau of Meteorology says, with the predicted La Niña event to reach a “similar strength” to the system that brought Cyclone Yasi and major flooding to Queensland nearly a decade ago.
