A decision on when wet pubs across the country will be allowed to reopen is set to be made this afternoon.
Cabinet is due to meet later today and it is understood they will choose between three dates: September 14, 21 or 28.
The spike in cases in both Limerick and Dublin has raised some doubt about an immediate opening with September 14 likely coming too soon.
Instead, September 21 has been reported to be the most popular choice at the moment.
