It’s taken six years but finally everyone is talking about the “scrappy little show” from Canada that’s up for 15 Emmys on Monday.
For the first couple of years, Schitt’s Creek was largely unknown outside Canada, where it had been commissioned by the national broadcaster CBC in conjunction with a little-known US cable network, Pop TV. But in late 2016, Netflix picked up the first three seasons for a second window, which, Levy said recently on actor David Tennant’s podcast, “really cracked open this whole new world of viewership”.
