Mask-wearing style varies; there’s the medical-grade close fit, the casual light scarf and when the wearer needs to eat or drink – the chin mask.
I settled on a combination of the one attractive cloth mask (light pink with gumnut print) I managed to snaffle on Etsy before they sold out, and a box of ugly blue disposable masks. Then on Thursday morning, the first day that masks became mandatory in Melbourne outside the home, I sallied forth to shop for essentials, armed with my apocalypse go-bag: mask, hand sanitiser, gloves, anti-zombie spray.
