Warriors ‘very relieved’ after Telstra backflip on cruel $1m slap in the face – Fox Sports
New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George says the club is ‘very relieved’ with telecommunications giant Telstra’s sensational U-turn in its decision to force out the club’s main sponsor.
On Monday it was revealed that Vodafone would not be permitted to sponsor the embattled NRL club after this season.
As first reported by the Herald, the move was sparked by the NRLs enactment of an exclusivity clause which protects Telstra, the competitions major sponsor, from any competition – and was set to cost the Warriors at least $1 million a season.
