Warning: Black outs, high power prices on road to renewables
A new report out today, from Energy Security Board boss Kerry Schott’s report, warns that the renewables are being built so fast that in many places “the networks are overloaded”.The cheaper renewables are putting pressure on the traditional coal power and potentially forcing their early closure, leaving a gap in the supply.It would lead to reliability issues unless more is done to better manage the transition, it warns.Energy Minister Angus Taylor more planning needed to be done to “protect…
