A few weeks ago, 27-year-old Angie Yen from Brisbane posted a video onTikTok.
“I woke up with an Irish accent,” the caption says, “#Sendhelp”.
The story is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.
Ten days after having her tonsils removed, Angie started singing in the shower and noticed her Australian accent was gone – she was speaking in an Irish one instead.
