WA man fined for breaching COVID-19 rules in Northern Territory

Northern Territory Police have fined a WA man for breaching COVID-19 directions after he was found camping near Uluru after allegedly having been in a coronavirus hotspot within the past 14 days.

Police said the 64-year-old man from WA was located at the Yulara campground after entering the Territory from South Australia “without submitting an online border entry form”.
He received a $5,056 fine and was “sent immediately to the Alice Springs quarantine facility”.
“There is no excuse for this,” Acting Commander Sachin Sharma said.
