WA hotel quarantine report warned of ‘high-risk’ COVID-19 dangers a month before Perth lockdown

The West Australian government was warned in March about “high-risk” ventilation issues at the Mercure Hotel — the quarantine hotel at the centre of Perth’s coronavirus outbreak.

In a report handed to the Department of Health on March 30, it was recommended guests in adjoining rooms or directly opposite to a confirmed COVID-19 positive person should be moved at least one room further away, if possible.
