WA government plans to make COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for hotel quarantine workers

The WA Government is set to make the COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for quarantine workers, despite Premier Mark McGowan admitting it was not his preference.

- The rule will apply to security personnel, cleaners and hotel staff, medical and health staff, and police who work in the hotel system
About two in five hotel quarantine workers in the state’s system, part of the priority 1a vaccine rollout cohort, have so far not consented to getting the jab.
Mr McGowan said mandating the Pfizer vaccine for workers in the quarantine system had “never been (his) preference”.
