A coronavirus patient in Western Australia at the centre of personal protective equipment breaches has been confirmed to have the highly contagious UK strain.

A coronavirus patient in Western Australia at the centre of personal protective equipment breaches has been confirmed to have the highly contagious UK strain.
The woman in her 80s arrived in the state from the UK on Tuesday and went into hotel quarantine and has since been taken to hospital.
A paramedic, a nurse and a third person who came into contact with the woman have been forced into hotel quarantine after it was revealed they breached protection protocols.
