Viola Davis buys former plantation where she was born as birthday gift to herself: ‘It is the birthplace of my story’ – 9TheFIX
Viola Davis’ 55th birthday is certainly one to remember.
As a gift to herself, the Oscar winner bought the former St. Matthews plantation in South Carolina, the same estate where she was born many moons ago.
“The above is the house where I was born August 11, 1965. It is the birthplace of my story,” she explained on Instagram, alongside a photo of the dwelling. “Today on my 55th year of life….I own it….all of it.”
