Victoria’s eight-week run of zero local COVID-19 cases has come to an end, with a Victorian man contracting the virus in a Perth quarantine hotel before travelling to Melbourne this week.Arriving in Melbourne on April 21, the new case was informed immediately upon stepping off the plane that he was a close contact of a positive case, as he had stayed on the same hotel floor in Perth where the virus was being transmitted.
