The news that Victoria recorded more than 700 new cases and 13 deaths yesterday set off alarm bells across Australia.
“It was depressing,” said Dr Hassan Vally, leading epidemiologist at La Trobe University.
Acting chief medical officer Paul Kelly says it is important the nation help Victoria get on top of its outbreak, noting the state’s 5,000 active coronavirus cases are “an issue for all of us”.
