Victorian, NSW coronavirus clusters prompt State Government to order review of workplace-return plan

The Victorian Government has asked its public health team to reconsider its timeline to get the state’s workers back into the office.

Private employers had been given the green light to welcome half the workforce back onsite from Monday, January 11. They are currently allowed to have just a quarter of staff in the workplace.

Offices with fewer than 40 staff were scheduled to allow 20 of them to return.

On the same date, public servants were due to begin a phased return to work, with 25 per cent of staff allowed back in the office, increasing to 50 per cent on February 8.

But that could be delayed after the Government ordered the timeline to be reconsidered in light of the coronavirus situation in Victoria and New South Wales.
