Health officials have restricted asymptomatic COVID-19 testing to people instructed to get a test by contact tracers, despite the system being plagued by delays.
Residents of high-rise public housing towers in Melbourne can be tested at the doctor’s discretion, the guidelines say, along with people in “exceptional circumstances … where is it deemed to be in the interests of the persons mental and physical welfare or the safety of the testing site.”
