Victorian COVID-19 cases set national record – RN Drive – ABC News
Victoria was the focus of today’s national cabinet meeting, which also resolved to cap the number of international arrivals to 4,000 a week.
Health authorities had warned that Victoria’s coronavirus outbreak was likely to worsen before it improved.
Even so, news of 288 new infections recorded in the last 24 hours – the highest one day total in Australia to date – is a sobering reminder of the challenge of containing the virus.
The Chief Health Officer, Professor Paul Kelly, is pleading with Australians to follow the rules.
