Victorian barristers part ways with Law Council – The Australian Financial Review
The Victorian Bar Association will leave the peak body for the legal profession after refusing to pay its members’ dues for the next financial year.

It leaves the Victorian Bar as the only state or territory legal association not to be part of a national body that is the leading voice on legal issues and the profession.
The move follows a Ticket for Change group sweeping last years bar elections and the installation of more conservative elements of the bar who opposed what they felt was an emerging woke agenda.
