Victorian authorities investigating possible transmission of coronavirus in hotel quarantine
Victorian authorities are investigating the possible transmission of COVID-19 within its hotel quarantine system after a family of five and another returned traveller on the same floor all tested positive for the same UK variant of the virus.
Two separate resident groups on the same floor of the Park Royal Hotel have returned genome testing results for the same coronavirus strain.
No staff have tested positive to date, and they are tested daily.
COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (CQV) is investigating how the two cases are linked, including reviewing CCTV and undertaking environmental testing of the hotel, including ventilation systems.
