Victoria to introduce permit system for NSW arrivals from midnight after Northern Beaches COVID outbreak
Victoria will effectively close its border to Sydney’s Northern Beaches residents or people who have been exposed to high-risk sites in New South Wales from midnight tonight.

- A permit system for NSW residents and anyone travelling from NSW will take effect from midnight
- Anyone travelling from “red zone” locations will not be permitted to enter Victoria
- Victorians have been warned not to travel to Sydney because “conditions are expected to deteriorate”
Victoria will introduce a traffic light permit system for anyone entering the state from New South Wales, Health Minister Martin Foley said.
