Victoria will revert to the restrictions in place at New Years Eve after a case was detected in a worker in hotel quarantine.
On Wednesday, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews held an emergency late night press conference and confirmed the case is a 26-year-old man from Noble Park.
It is yet to be confirmed if the case is the contagious UK strain of the virus, but a number of restrictions will return.
From 11.59pm on Wednesday, gatherings will be reduced from 30 to 15 people indoors.
