Victoria dragging down nation’s jobs market, spending – Sydney Morning Herald
Victoria was weighing on national spending and the country’s jobs market even before Melbourne went into stage four restrictions.

Queensland was the best-performed state with payroll jobs up by 0.6 per cent in the fortnight while they rose by 0.5 per cent in South Australia and 0.2 per cent in NSW.
Since payroll data started being collated in mid-March, jobs are down by 6.7 per cent in Victoria, the worst of any state or territory.
ABS head of labour statistics Bjorn Jarvis said by June 25, Victoria had regained about 40 per cent of the jobs it had lost since mid-April. By the end of July, this had reduced to 25 per cent…
