The alleged victim of a gang rape has spoken out after Queensland police asked her to remain silent about a litany of failures by an investigating officer.

The woman, who waited a quarter of a century for charges to be laid and pressed for an investigation into mishandling of her complaint, was asked not to reveal details of misconduct findings against a detective who botched the original investigation.
