Varsity Lakes family have ‘unwavering love and support’ for father accused of mother’s murder

The family of an 82-year-old man accused of murdering his elderly wife at their Gold Coast home say they are supporting their father and have unwavering love.
Emergency services were alerted to the scene about 1:30pm Thursday after the couple’s daughter went to the Varsity Lakes home to check on their welfare.
Officers found the body of Robyn Beever, 82, inside the garage of the home.
Her husband, Maxwell Beever, was also found at the home and taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he was under police guard.
Mr Beever’s lawyer Jonathan Nyst released a statement on behalf of the family, who are struggling to cope with the situation.
