Vaccine stocks Pfizer (PFE) and BioNTech (BNTX) dipped Wednesday after test results showed their coronavirus vaccine could protect against the U.K. variant of Covid-19.
XThe mutated form of Covid-19 plaguing the U.K. is particularly worrisome because the spike protein has 10 variations. Currently authorized vaccines target that spike protein. Since the beginning of the pandemic, researchers have worried the virus would mutate in ways that render vaccines ineffective.
