Vaccine rollout dependent on federal government supply, says Queensland Deputy Premier after criticism over delays
The Queensland Government has launched a broadside against the Commonwealth over the coronavirus vaccine rollout, with Deputy Premier Steven Miles saying “communication could be improved” and the Federal Government has not guaranteed supply of doses.
The Commonwealth provides doses to the states and territories, who are in charge of administering the vaccines.
The Federal Government originally set a target to administer 4 million vaccines by early April, but walked that target back some weeks ago.
It follows comments made by senior Federal Government minister David Littleproud, who told Channel Nine on Wednesday morning that states “just need to pull their finger out”.
