Royal Melbourne Hospital doctor Shazeea Mohamed Ali, who was overseeing vaccinations at the centre, said the clinic was the busiest it had been so far.
This has been the first big increase in the number of people we can vaccinate, she said.
The clinic had 20 vaccination booths open because it had anticipated that an additional 20 would not be needed, but Dr Mohamed Ali said based on Mondays turnout more booths would likely open on Tuesday.
