USC: University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia has joined a groundbreaking clinical trial that could reduce the debilitating effects of lymphoedema – a cruel side effect for many breast cancer survivors.

Researchers are testing the drug LYT-100 which is already proving successful in other areas.

“It’s been used in lung fibrosis, so there’s good data to suggest that it will have a role to play in reducing inflamation in fibrosis in lymphodema.”

Report on 7NEWS Sunshine Coast at 6pm.
