US set to rejoin United Nations Human Rights Council that Donald Trump withdrew from almost three years ago

US President Joe Biden’s administration will re-engage with the United Nations Human Rights Council, almost three years after Donald Trump withdrew over what his administration called bias against Israel and a lack of reform.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken is poised to announce that the United States will return to the Geneva-based council as an observer, a senior State Department official said.
