US Open second seed Dominic Thiem has found himself at the centre of a sponsorship controversy after demanding a drink of Red Bull on Friday (AEST).
The Austrian caused a major headache for tournament organisers over his insistence on the popular energy drink which is not an official sponsor of the tournament.
Organisers of the event originally rejected Thiems request during his second round victory over Indias Sumit Nagal, but were eventually forced to cave to his demand.
