US coronavirus hospitalisations at record levels, as states sound the alarm and holidays loom
Wisconsin’s hospital system is “on the brink of an unsustainable strain from the uncontrolled and exponentially growing rate of COVID-19,” begins Governor Tony Evers’ new emergency declaration.
He said more than a third of Wisconsin’s hospitals are operating at peak capacity, unable to admit new patients.
Nearly a third of intensive care beds in the state are occupied by COVID-19 patients, and hospitals are running out of room for people with other conditions.
“We need your help to stop the spread of this virus, and we all have to do this together,” Governor Evers said.
