‘Unsellable’ Bale gives Real $488m headache in race for megastar – Fox Sports
It’s exactly a year since Real Madrid decided to pull the plug on Gareth Bale’s money-spinning move to China and they look to be regretting it ever since, with that decision looking likely to now cost them around £90m ($163m).
It was a matter of pride that the club wouldnt allow their second most expensive signing ever leave for nothing, especially after they believed James Rodriguez would be sold for big money.
That, of course, didnt happen and Real spent the season paying both men a combined salary of £28.5m ($51.5m) to sit on the bench.
