Detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit have today charged a man in relation to the death of a prisoner at the Wolston Correctional Centre last month.
On Tuesday, November 10, a 37-year-old prisoner was assaulted at the Wolston Correctional Centre. The man was transported to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on November 20.
Investigators have today issued a Notice to Appear (NTA) to a 26-year-old man from Wolston Correctional Centre with one count of unlawful striking causing death.
The man will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 19.
