Harry Maguire feared for his life during what he thought was a kidnapping attempt but was actually an arrest by Greek police in plain clothes.
The Manchester United captain was on Tuesday given a suspended prison sentence of 21 months and 10 days for harming and attempting to bribe police after being arrested in Mykonos.
An appeal has been lodged and a full retrial will be heard in a more senior court, meaning Maguires conviction has now been nullified in accordance with Greek law.
