UK sees largest daily rise in coronavirus cases in six weeks as 1,062 more people diagnosed – Wales Online
The large rise comes after a former government chief scientist warned we are only weeks away from another lockdown

More than 1,000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours across the UK, the largest rise in a single day since June 25.
The 1,062 new cases come amid growing concerns that the sustained fall in the number of cases seen in the UK since the start of May has started to plateau and may even be rising again.
Sunday’s total is a significant rise on the 758 new cases reported on Saturday across the UK. Of the new cases, 26 were in Wales and 48 in Scotland.
