UFC 251 live: updates, results — follow all the action! – Fox Sports
Petr Yan is the new bantamweight champion of the world after a stunning display against Jose Aldo at UFC 251 on Fight Island.

In the first of three title fights, Aldo, off the back of two losses, was given a shot at the vacant 135-pound belt, but was outclassed by his Russian opponent who finally stopped him in the fifth round.

Yan, who takes the title Henry Cejudo left behind when he retired, is now 7-0 in the UFC.
The new champion took over in rounds four and five, with a final round barrage proving too much for Aldo, who probably could have been put out of his misery earlier than he was by referee Leon Roberts.
Up now, Australian Alexander Volkanovski will defend his 145-pound belt for the first time, against the man he took it from in December, Max Holloway.
Then, after Gilbert Burns was forced to pull out of the main event, we will see welterweight champion Kamaru Usman put his belt on the line against Jorge Masvidal instead.
Its a fight that for most is more exciting than the initial headliner, Masvidal, on six days notice, will get his first shot at the 170-pound belt.
In the co-main event on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Australian Alexander Volkanovski will defend his 145-pound belt for the first time, against the man he took it from in December, Max Holloway.
DEBUT TO REMEMBER
In the final fight before the UFC 251 main card got underway, Jiri Prochazka made quite the impression, capping off a bizarre debut performance with a monstrous knockout of a top light heavyweight contender.
Stepping in to the Fight Island cage with a considerable amount of hype, Prochazka made a slow start to life in the UFC after Volkan Oezdemir, the No. 7 ranked contender, edged the first round.
But Prochazka, who toyed with Oezdemir despite taking some damage, found the answer in the second after connecting with a left high kick, before a big right hand left his opponent in a crumpled mess on the canvas.

LEFT HOOK DEVASTATION
Davey Grant got UFC 251 on Fight Island off to a violent start on Sunday when he turned Martin Days lights off with a perfect left hook.
With the bantamweight fight in the balance, Grant avoided hearing from the judges when he sent Day crashing to the canvas; a walk-off knockout.
As if that wasnt enough, Grant, who secured only the second KO/TKO win of his 16-fight MMA career, also revealed that he broke his jaw early in the fight.
