Two rescued as Townsville’s flooding rains head south towards Whitsundays, Mackay

Two people have been rescued after their car became trapped in floodwaters in the Whitsundays as flooding rains shift south after drenching Townsville .

Swift Water Rescue officers were called to the Bruce Highway south of Airlie Beach, about 7.30pm yesterday.
