Walsall and Stafford could face lockdown measures and enhanced restrictions within the month, according to the latest figures.
Coronavirus continues to rise across the country – with Walsall now having a rate of over 100 cases per 100,000.
It is joined by Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull in having a rate of more than 100 cases per 100k – but all three of these areas are in lockdown.
Stafford faces the same fate, with 101 cases per 100,000, up from 43.7 last week.
