Two fatal blows, 70 injuries found on Tyrell Cobb’s body

On May 15, he was treated in hospital for an infection and fracture from an injury that was said to have been caused when his finger was crushed in a toy box while his mother’s boyfriend Matthew Scown was with him.
Tyrell was discharged five days later.

His mother, Heidi Strbak, claimed Tyrell later fell on the stairs and in the shower.
On May 23 and 24, Tyrell was vomiting profusely until he was found choking on his own vomit.
He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital by paramedics but died at 10.30pm on May 24.
An autopsy showed one bruise near his belly was caused by punches or an impact with blunt objects, and Tyrell would have experienced extreme pain.
Tyrell’s mother, Heidi Strbak, was charged with manslaughter.
