Two bushfires burning out of control in Perth’s east and in the Wheatbelt
There are two bushfires burning out of control in WA—one in Perth’s east and another which has flared up more recently in the State’s wheatbelt region.
An emergency bushfire warning was issued earlier this afternoon for High Wycombe, in Perth’s east, in the city of Kalamunda.
A second fire has broken out in Daliak in the Shire of York, about 100km east of Perth, forcing the closure of Great Southern Highway.
The warning is in place for people in an area bounded by the highway, Ashworth Road, Mokine Road, Hamsley Siding Road and Wambyn Nature Reserve.
Residents are urged to act immediately to survive and to leave now if the way is clear.
