Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat have temporarily locked the accounts of US President Donald Trump, as tech giants scramble to crack down on his baseless claims about the presidential election amid riots in the US Capitol.

- Twitter said the decision had been made in response to the “ongoing violent situation” in Washington, DC
